Who is speaking? Who is listening? And who is doing the “individuation”? The Psychology of Selves* gives us access to energies we experience and express as voices: personal and archetypal, national and psychological. In this talk Kris will explore some current voices with which we may be identified - voices which may clamour, allure, enliven or constipate us - and will inquire into what they perhaps mask.

As distinct from the voice of intuition, one of these is the voice of the “individuator” -in fact we may hear a variety of these: those who wish to fix ourselves, others and the world. These play a mischievous role in our self constructs, sometimes performing as the ‘hydra-headed‘ ego as we strive towards awareness, to use Meher Baba’s description. With the backdrop of the myth of Icarus and Daedalus Kris will speak about the allure of the sun of individuation, as experienced by different, often warring, aspects of self. Will the real Individuator please stand up?

    * The Psychology of Selves was developed by Drs Hal and Sidra Stone and is the theoretical framework for voice dialogue.
